About Free Mentally

Healing is possible. The work is worth doing carefully.

Samara brings 12 years of clinical experience to Free Mentally, shaped by years of work with survivors of intimate partner violence and by facilitating batterer intervention groups. This work taught her something she carries into every session: that survivors are resilient, and that healing happens at its own pace.

She is EMDR-trained and a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Clinical Social Work Interns (RCSWIs), supporting the next generation of trauma-informed clinicians.

Free Mentally was created as a place where survivors feel believed and professionals find a reliable partner — warm enough to be human, rigorous enough to be trusted.

Survivors

A safe, judgment-free space to process, heal, and rebuild — at your pace, in your voice.

Professionals

A reliable referral and collaboration partner for attorneys, universities, shelters, and schools.

In the practice

A space that feels like a room, not a clinic.

Free Mentally is built to feel lived-in. Warm light, plants, and a place to sit with a cup of coffee or a book. Survivors often tell us that the space itself is the first thing that helped them breathe a little deeper.

The work is serious. The room doesn't have to be cold.
